In the blog of title Quacks in Medical Field in India…I have tried to differentiate or classify quacks under six headings.

But the Fake doc is the new entity…I have unnoticed till today.

He is rather self-claimed scientist…so may be dignifying himself more than a doctor…if he has really has invented some thing.

His practice of medicine is so flourishing that …according to news…he has paid rupees 200 millions as tax.

So the income he has made is beyond the imagination.

Another news paper in Marathi…mentions that…his patient or clients were big shot.

I am not writing this post to take any review on particular case as matter is still not resolved.

What is wrong? What is legal? Is not my topic…though I am concerned about it.

My only intention is…the social aspect.

The poor…villagers…are one time can be excused for taking treatment from quacks as there may not be suitable option or they are in one way ignorant and some times innocents.

But how one can expect…the rich peoples…well educated peoples…are also getting attracted or involved in this type of scandal?

And finally…

A complaint has been launched by one of his patient…and not by any qualified doctor.

So the favorer of quacks are not able to say…the doctors are jealous on quacks as they are competitors of them.

Government’s health department is prompt enough to take action against quacks.

News mentions the bitter fact of ‘No complaint against these quacks’

And so what action does government takes is the big question.

The action against the quacks is the unanswered question.

Till the people in general are not against it…nothing will be effective.

Who are Quacks?

There are definite ways by which Quacks or bogus persons practicing medicine can be defined.

Those who are not registered by various Medical counsels permitted by government authorities and practicing medicines in any of the form under any other name and claiming to cure medical illness are the Quacks…  

Any person with sense can make a difference between two by just inspecting a certificate of registration of a particular person…

But in India it is not the way…

We are making simple things complicated…and we never pay attention on complicated things…

Quacks of Type I

Different ways of Quacks

New trend developed by quacks:

                   1. Practice without Name board…

                   2. Practice with prescription on a plain paper                                         

                   3.Visiting practice, no clinic.

                   4. To practice under qualified doctor’s certificate.

                   (Unfortunately this is the truth…)

                   5. Periodic shifting of places.

6. They are little bit trained under some qualified doctor.

                   7. They mostly practice allopathic medicines

8. They apply IV fluids (with some multivitamin injection in it) at patients residence…it is their main bread & butter

Quacks Type II

Jadi buti Vaidya or Doctors

(Type II)

Practice under the name of ayurveda or similar name like jadi buti

(Plant medicines) is of big concern…

1. These are unqualified persons giving their own drugs to especially chronic conditions…

          2. Usually an old maruti van is their clinic on road side.

          3. They may be setup looking like hut…but may be located in prime area of town or village…

          4. They are with big banner mentioning the cure of various medical illnesses with 100 % guaranty…

          5. They impress you by some trick…and show the magic thing about medicine…like they may apply a lotion giving counter irritation or burning or soothing effect over your skin…and you may intend to buy it…

          6. There presence is not negligible…approximately more than 5/6 per Taluka place.

Quacks Type III

Another Type of Quacks… (Type III)

          1. Some room in Lodge is their address.

          2. They take appointment by mobile phone calls.

          3. They advertise in news papers and or on TV cable…

          4. Their days are fixed like one or two days in a month…

Quacks Type IV

Quack with Status…

( Type IV )

          1.These are quacks practicing openly…

          2.They have big setups…

          3.They are their own public relation officers like persons…

4.They are their own …so called…defender or supporter with them.

5.Qualified educated and rich persons are their clients…

6.Along with drug practice they teach some religious philosophy to people.

7.They give regular advertisements in news papers or TV cable channels…

8.Thay are supported by political people also…

9.No body dares to talk against them…except a organizations like Andhashradha samiti in Maharashtra…

Therapy which is not approved but not banned in India

          1.These are qualified or unqualified

2.They practice the therapy which is not approved but not banned in India

3.Some of which are acupuncture or acupressure, ozone therapy etcetera.

4.Some persons which are not doctors are practicing such therapy and label themselves as qualified.

5.Some qualified doctors are practicing such therapy as associated or supportive treatment.

Recent Quacks…Prestigious one…

These are new development…may be old one…but…now are presenting in prestigious way…

They are not representing themselves as doctors but still practices medical therapy.

1.They mainly practice hypnotic therapy…

2.They claims that by hypnosis they can cure medical illness.

3.Some pretends that they shows you your past or previous life…and by that experience…they conclude something…which…gives you solution to your psychological problem or even chronic medical illness.

4.They advertises on TV channels…news papers… 

5.Rich persons are their clients…

6.Their charges are heavy.

7.They are entertained by some TV channels by giving them entry for debate on their mastery…though the debate all ways exposes them…but may also work as good advertisement way for them.

          8.These modern quacks are well educated…with good personality…high standard of living…with laptop and all modern ways…

Quacks are the need in difficult area…

So there are number of ways to practice medicines easily in India….though it is not Legal.

Since they are not banned…no one can stop them.

Quacks are the need in difficult area…

But some people justifies the need of Quacks…

They justify them also in another wrong way as …these quack’s drugs do not make harmful effects…

It is absolutely wrong.

These quacks delays the proper treatment to commence and thus may result in the worsening the medical illness…

Is it the real need of difficult areas & of poor people?

   Answer is No.

Health Social workers & Trained nursing staff are the efficient to give primary & basic Health treatment. So do not welcome Quack?

Though very easy to separate unqualified persons form qualified medical persons…under which department it comes?

It is rather easy to take legal action on them to stop their practice of  various forms of medicines…

But

Who will take the action?

Answer is unanswered.

Will be the action effective?

Answer is unanswered.

Will be the action on permanent basis???

In some of the area the qualified government doctor officer was bitten by a mob of quack…and doctor officer has to run literally to save his life…

Private Doctors have taken lead to launch complaint against such quacks after knowing their truth…but…output is not satisfactory…

First case : Court Case against suspected two Quacks - Association spend approximately 15K with no positive result.

        

Second Case : Police case ( FIR) against Quack in year 1998 -   Case is pronged…no result till the date..

          Quack has shifted to new place & practicing…
